Our Mission

Mission statements 

1. Right to Food, Right to Nutrition Education and Right to Justice.
2. No one in the country should die of starvation and malnutrition,
                     Adopted from the statement by Supreme Court of India, September 14, 2011.
3. To help ensure that proper nutrition is supplied to children in orphanages,  anganwadi centres and schools, students in hostels and pg accommodations, patients in hospitals, senior citizens in old age homes and customers in restaurants.

Aim
To improve the nutritional care of people at risk of malnutrition whether in hospitals or in the community.

Our Approach

  • Raise a multidisciplinary malnutrition steering group, which represents all disciplines involved in screening and treatment of malnutrition and which has authority
  • Create awareness for the problem of disease related malnutrition by collecting prevalence data
  • Quick and easy screening tools, connected to a treatment plan
  • Screening as a mandatory quality indicator
  • Evidence based, validated tools and cost-effectiveness research
  • Ministry of Health as a key stakeholder to strengthen the message
  • Implementation projects in all health care settings:
Start pilot projects to implement screening and treatment of malnutrition in.
Evaluate and adjust where necessary
Use the field to develop tools and a toolkit
Disseminate the project over more institutions and organizations.
Make sure projects team are multidisciplinary and have authority

The Department of Community Medicine, present in various hospitals throughout India are requested to start this MSG cell and promote MSG in hospitals and in community.
